Trojan Horses
Mon 08 Oct 2018Last week we learnt all about the Trojan War and why we should ‘Beware Of Greeks bearing gifts,’
We worked in teams to create our own Trojan Horses which had to:
- hold 20 soldiers (Lego figures)
- move
- have a way for the soldiers to escape in the night
- not look like a box of soldiers!
I think you can agree the children all met their success criteria and did really well to say they only had one day!

Mummifying TutAnkh"Tom"un
Mon 08 Oct 2018Year 3 and 4 spent part of this afternoon learning how the Ancient Egyptians mummified their Pharaoh's.
We mummified TutAnkhTomun (or Pharaoh 'Tom') in groups, learning about how the body had to be cleansed, then emptied into Canopic Jars, and then cleansed again before salt was packed around the body and it was left for forty days.
Janiah, in class 7 said "It was a little bit gross", but Noah added "It was fun".

Jeans for Genes Day
Tue 02 Oct 2018Last Wednesday we took part in 'Jeans for Genes' day. Throughout the morning we placed loose change on a pair of jeans. It was brilliant to watch the transformation of the jeans and the generosity of everyone throughout the morning. We raised £132.31, wow! Thank you to everyone who donated change. -

Bringing the past to life
Mon 01 Oct 2018As the Year 3 and 4 children are currently learning about the Ancient Egyptians, we invited Partake into the school to let the children experience Egyptian artefacts, aromas and clothes, as well as taking part in a recreation of an Egyptian ceremony.
They seemed to really enjoy it, as you can see from the images in this slideshow.
