Take a look at our knowledge organiser:
We will be reading The Ancient Egypt Sleepover by Stephen Davies, a fun and engaging story that is inspired by ancient Egyptian history and culture.
It follows the story of a young boy named Sam, who gets transported back in time to Ancient Egypt and experiences a sleepover at the home of a young Egyptian girl named Nefer. Throughout their adventure, Sam learns about daily life in ancient Egypt, the gods and goddesses they worshiped, and the importance of rituals and beliefs in their society.
The story brings to life key aspects of ancient Egyptian culture, from the construction of the pyramids and the role of pharaohs to the religious practices that included the belief in the afterlife, gods like Ra and Anubis, and the rituals surrounding mummification. It highlights the significance of Egypt's impressive monuments and the deeply spiritual connection the Egyptians had with their gods and the natural world.
