Online Safety

At Porchester, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils is our top priority—both offline and online. We are committed to helping children become responsible, respectful, and safe users of digital technology. As part of our safeguarding practices, online safety is embedded across our curriculum and regularly revisited in computing and PSHE lessons.

We teach pupils how to use the internet and digital devices safely, how to manage risks, and what to do if they encounter anything upsetting or inappropriate online. Pupils are encouraged to speak to a trusted adult if they ever feel unsure or unsafe.

We also work closely with parents and carers to promote a shared understanding of online safety, offering guidance and resources to help families support their children at home.

Our policies and practices are regularly reviewed in line with national guidance, including the Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education and the UKCIS framework Education for a Connected World.

Together, we aim to equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.

Remember, when online.... be SMART!
