October 19, 2014: Happy Harvest
We celebrated Harvest festival at St John’s Methodist Church on Wednesday 15th October. Children from each class made presentations of poetry, paintings and reading of thanks for the harvest and one group gave a talk on how bees play a vital part in the harvest. The pupils also presented more than 40 shoe boxes filled with Christmas gifts, which the Carlton church will send to children around the world as part of Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box Appeal. The church collects the shoe box Christmas gifts annually.

October 18, 2012: Lower School India morning
This morning all of the lower school classes took part in an Indian dance workshop. All of the children loved this experience and learnt alot about Diwali at the same time. I was very impressed with the children's behaviour and enthusiasm for dancing, well done to all of you. To complete our morning of fun, the children also produced some Indian jewellery from clay. This look very impressive and the children cannot wait to paint and decorate these.

October 16, 2012: Harvest Service
Today all our pupils took a walk along Standhill Road to the church for our Harvest Service. We had previously asked pupils to fill a shoebox full of gifts to donate to the Samaritan's Purse charity. We were very impressed with how many shoeboxes were donated. As well the shoeboxes, lots of children also left donations of food for the Harvest Collection. Well done everyone! (we even received a message on the school Twitter account this evening from Samaritan's Purse thanking us for our shoebox donations). @porchester Thank you very much.— Samaritan's Purse (@SamaritansPurse) October 16, 2012
