Parents' coffee mornings
We have thought for a while that we could make a greater effort within school to involve parents and carers more in the day to day education we provide here. Sometimes it can seem a long time between parents meetings and we wondered about starting a drop in style of Coffee Morning on each Tuesday morning. We plan the Coffee Morning to run from 8.45am when the children come into school and last for about 45 minutes. At this stage we are just looking to see how many parents/carers might be interested. We have had some ideas as to what we might be able to provide. These include explanation of work that the children are involved in, how adults can help children to get on with their school work and to share some possible concerns we all go through as parents. We really intend it to be a session where everyone has a voice. The session will be run by Mr Foster, a teacher new to our school. He has run a similar group in another school over the past few years and is keen to develop this here. Could you please complete the tear off slip below and return it to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible so that we can organise the appropriate room and facilities. Please remember that we are here to listen to your ideas and want to make this a real opportunity for everyone. Please look out for the email / letter with more information or contact the school office.

It wasn't only the Yr6 pupils we said farewell to at the end of the school day today, we also bid a sad goodbye to three members of staff. We said goodbye to Mrs, Gledhill who has been teaching class3 with Mrs. Wright this year, and has been working on developing the maths we teach in school. We said goodbye to Miss.Buchanan who has been working with children all across the school for the past year, as well as developing the pupil parliament, Film Club and the Road Safety group. We said goodbye to Mrs. Kerr who has been teaching class7 this year, and has developed the French and Art we teach in school as well as organising the schools participation in the 'Sing Up' spectacular. Thank you to all three members of staff for the hard work and commitment shown this year. We hope you enjoy your new schools.

All the children will need to be back in school at 5:45pm dressed in their outfits which they will bring home that day. The children have worked incredibly hard and we are very proud of them all. Wow! We had a fantastic afternoon for sports day today. All the children took part in 7 different events throughout the afternoon and it was lovely to see the sportsmanship and lovely attitude from all the children. Here are a few pictures from the afternoon, as you can imagine we were quite busy so we only had chance to take a couple. Posted with Blogsy
