How to...

How to find past articles that were posted

On the right hand side of the screen there is a list of the ten most recent articles that have been added to the website. Clicking on any of the links will take you straight to that article. However, if the article you are looking for is not in the latest list, you can either use the archive link in the navbar at the top of the screen to look in the relevant part of the website, click on the "next page" button at the bottom of the page, or visit the class area that the article was posted into.

How to add a comment to an article

Almost every article that is added to the website has the facility for readers - staff, parents, friends or pupils - to comment on them.

To make a comment, scroll down to the bottom of the article and you will see text with the name of the author of the article, the section of the website into which it has been placed, and a commenting option. If you do not see a commenting option, then comments cannot be left on that particular article. (Most articles will automatically close their commenting facility one month after the article was posted)

Click on the comment number and on the next screen that appears, enter your name (pupils - only ever your first name please) and then your comment. Although you are asked for your email address, it is NEVER displayed on the website.

Once you click on post your message will be read by the school and, if suitable for display on the website, will be added.

How to get the latest additions directly

This website makes use of the latest technology to allow you to be sent new articles directly to your computer without the need to visit the website. Using RSS feeds, you can set up your email, or a special RSS reader, to alert you when a new article has been added.

The address for the main website RSS feed is; http://www.porchester.notts.sch.uk/website/rss.xml  [Click here to get feed]

We also provide an spoken feed of articles on the website, thanks to odiogo.com. The spoken feed can be found here (the main feed)
