October 1, 2018: Bringing the past to life
As the Year 3 and 4 children are currently learning about the Ancient Egyptians, we invited Partake into the school to let the children experience Egyptian artefacts, aromas and clothes, as well as taking part in a recreation of an Egyptian ceremony. They seemed to really enjoy it, as you can see from the images in this slideshow.

January 21, 2017: Year Six SATS revision resources 2017
http://www.porchester.notts.sch.uk/website/sats-revision-resources.html We have created a selection of resources to be used as revision aids for the forthcoming SATS tests for year 6.

December 19, 2016: Year Six SATS revision
We have gathered some superb resources in preparation for year six SATS tests, which can be found here: http://www.porchester.notts.sch.uk/website/sats-revision-resources.html They can be used to help your child revise or practice skills. We wanted to share them with you as soon as possible so the resources were there to dip in and out of. Keep the reading going, last years texts were very challenging! In school we have been using reciprocal reading, children become predictors, clarifies, questioners and summarisers. Predicting: makes logical predictions and uses information from wider knowledge, and personal experience to predict what will be in the text. Clarifying: identifies confusing words, sentences and ideas. Summarising: identifies the most important ideas in the text. Questioning: ask questions which encourage full understanding of the text; allows analysing and evaluating of the text. Mrs I.
