School Council Discussions 29/1/09

In School Council, we've been talking about pushing in the breakfast club line and about road safety.

We had a chat about pushing in the breakfast club at our meeting and we thought about some bodyguards. We have decided to give some letters out about road safety and some posters.

As for the road safety we are thinking about a van / lorry with a person in it and if someone goes in a space right next to the school then the driver of the big vehicle will shout something like"Hey, Please can you park around the corner and walk."

QMC Visit

Today Class 3 visited the Queens Medical Centre as part of the I.M.P.s training.  The children were taught how to revive an unconscious person by following the 123 - ABC code, can you remember what it stands for? 

They also got a chance to look around the emergency departments, put someone in the recovery position, have their blood/oxygen levels checked, get a finger plastered, and many more exciting and interesting things. 

As always the children behaved beautifully.

Porchester collection on it's way to Tanzania!

Yesterday, Laban, Theressa and Emil, our Tanzanian friends, collected everything that you had donated - stationery, clothes, computers and printers - to take with them when they return to Tanzania.  We managed to fill the van to the roof with your donations!  They were overwhelmed by the many things we had collected for them and said that there was enough to keep a school/village resourced for years. 

Well done Porchester and all our friends in the community - especially the children from Broomhill School - who helped us to collect!
