"Oh my poor baby!!!" the female pickpocket screamed.
The male pickpocket was devastated at the terrible events happening. He decided he must go on a journey through all of Epic Citadel to find someone who could help his baby. The female pickpocket kept saying things like, "Oh you are so brave dear" and "Obviously you have the courage of a king!"
The next morning the pickpocket set off on one of the biggest journeys of his life. First he went to seek help from the King. However he had to be careful as if the King discovered he was a pickpocket he would have his head. Later that day, the pickpocket left the castle with a little less help. He knew that if he ever did get help he would advise his son to pickpocket that evil, mean, selfish king.
The pickpocket knew of a cave that one of his brothers had told him not to go into. He told the pickpocket that the cave was once home to a fearsome dragon that still visited there sometimes. Should he go in?
The pickpocket entered the cave. He didn't care how dangerous it was, he would do anything to help his baby. He grabbed a torch, and lit a tar soaked rag, then searched the cave. He was regretting his actions already and he'd only been in there two minutes. The cave stank of rotten eggs and sewers. He could hear a distant tapping noise that was getting closer to him.
Tap, tap, tap!!! He was terrified. What was it? Suddenly the face of a little boy appeared in the darkness of the cave. "What are you doing in here?" the pickpocket said "What is your name?"
"My name is Oleyand and here is the place where I hear noises. Mumbling noises. Like my father's voice. Very disturbing sir. Very disturbing I say." said the boy confidently. "Please do not hurt me! Who are you anyway sir? Why are you here?"
The pickpocket replied to Oleyand, "My name is George and my baby has a deformed arm. You couldn't help him." He hesitated. "Or could you?..."
"Yes I can, I possess magic. It is my hidden talent but first you must help by giving me a medicine to help me when I'm lost and to guide me when I'm troubled. You must make this potion using magic. I'll give you a spark of my magic. If you complete it I will help your baby. Goodbye George." Oleyand blew gold glitter, as gold as the gold would be at the end of a rainbow if there were gold at the end of rainbows of course (George didn't have a hint of superstition in him) and Oleyand disappeared in the blink of an eye.
George had a good friend called Edward. He was a physician and he had handled magic in bottles and poisons. He lived about a days walk away. But he would walk for many days to help his baby.
George was a pickpocket not a burglar. But he thought it'd be quicker to ride on a horse so he stole one. George was sure he was never going to a burglar and decided to stick with being a pickpocket.
He rode to Edward's house. When he arrived he knocked on Edward's old, wooden door. There was no answer. "Edward, I seek your attention"
"Who is it?" someone shouted from inside the house.
"It is I, George Masons of Epic Citadel." George replied.
Slowly, the front door opened a fraction and suddenly Edward popped out in front of George's dirty face and Edward exclaimed, "Welcome to my house and to my home. How good to see you. Is George Masons, my good old friend still in tip top form?"
"There is no time to chat, you must make me a potion to guide me through my troubles. It needs magic for it to succeed." George replied.
"Of course but I do not possess such magic so it is impossible", Edward said apologetically.
"I carry the magic in my soul. It is now yours." George told Edward. George blew for his life and eventually the glitter came dancing out of his mouth, flew into Edward's mouth and George fainted.
The next morning, George woke up in Edward's house with a banging headache. He looked up and saw Edward holding a bottle with a label on it in one hand and a bigger bottle with a rough material on it in the other. He explained that the big bottle was water for the rest of his journey and the small bottle was the remedy.
George left Edward's house that day and returned to the cave where he had been a couple of days earlier. When he got inside the cave, he saw Oleyand and George gave the cure to him without a word.
Oleyand said to George, "Thank you sir, you may have this potion back as I lied because I do not need a potion. This is your baby's cure."
Oleyand disappeared like a ghost. George couldn't contain his joy. He rode the horse miles and miles back home, put the horse in the stables and went home. He burst through the door and hugged his wife then went to the baby and poured the potion onto his arm.
George slowly lifted the arm off his baby's chest…
